Baseball has seen a lot of talented players, but none like George Herman Ruth, who was also known as “Babe Ruth,” “The King of Crash,” “The Colossus of Clout,” or “The Great Bambino.” He was born on February 6, 1895, in Baltimore, Maryland. He had many monikers because of his achievements in the game at various times. Ruth began playing baseball in high school, where he excelled as a batter, pitcher, and fielder. The owner of the Baltimore Orioles watched a game that Ruth played in, and he signed him. He became an Orioles player at 19, and because of his age, older players on the team called him “Babe.”

In 1914, he joined the Red Sox as a lefty pitcher after polishing his abilities in his high school in Baltimore, Maryland. Ruth was more renowned for pitching than batting with the Boston Red Sox. He proved himself at various times and became an important member of the Red Sox. Ruth helped the Red Sox win numerous games, and one of his achievements was leading them to win three World Series games.

The Red Sox traded Ruth to the Yankees for $100,000. This sale is regarded as the most famous in baseball history; Ruth signed a two-year deal with the Yankees. His trade to the Yankees was nicknamed the “Curse of the Bambino” among fans. After he left, the Red Sox failed to win another World Series until 2004.

Ruth played the outfield position for the Yankees at the start of his career. Later on, he developed into the game’s all-time best hitter. Ruth outperformed himself the next season by hitting over 50 home runs. He was rewarded and named the highest-paid baseball player based on his amazing feats and skill.

The Yankees had to leave the Polo Grounds because they outdrew the Giants in their stadium. This, in turn, led to the construction of Yankee Stadium in 1923. It was nicknamed “The House that Ruth Built.” He was a driving force in the Yankees winning four World Series. Ruth spent 15 years with the Yankees.

Ruth had a brief stint with the Boston Braves and then retired in 1935. The Great Bambino was one of the Baseball Hall of Fame’s original five inductees. On the Hall of Fame list, he owns a lot of records, some of which include being rated first in OPS, second in RBI, second in OBP, and second in slugging. Ruth led the league 12 different times in home runs.

Due to the fact that he was one of the most famous baseball players, Ruth got a bit of credit for the creation of a baseball league in Japan. He visited the country a lot, which resulted in several American baseball players being popular there. This led to the formation of a league in Japan. At the time of his retirement, he had amassed 56 records to his name. Sadly, Ruth died on August 16, 1948; he passed away from cancer. To this day, fans remember him as a Yankees legend.
